What is the Arizona CoppeRx Card® Prescription Discount Program?
Answer - The Arizona CoppeRx Card® Prescription Discount Program is a plan created by Governor Janet Napolitano to provide significant discounts on prescription drugs for all Arizona residents.
The cost of prescription drugs continues to skyrocket. By providing a discount program that is absolutely free for all Arizona residents, the State hopes to combat the high drug prices that force many to go without badly needed medications.
"This is a good solution for people who exhaust so much of their budget on medication," says Governor Napolitano.
Question - Am I eligible?
Answer - If you are an Arizona resident, you are eligible for the CoppeRx Card®.
Question - Am I enrolled?
Answer - Enrollment is free and easy. If you are not already enrolled and you are an Arizona resident, you can Click here to download and print a temporary CoppeRx Card®. If you do not already have full prescription drug coverage, this program could save you a lot of money.
Question - How much will I save?
Answer - Savings typically range from 15% to 55% from the overall retail price. Your actual discount may be more or less, depending on the medication and the pharmacy you use. Through July 1, 2005, the program has saved participating residents more than $10 million. The greatest percentage of savings has been realized on generic drugs and prescriptions filled through the mail order service.
Question - How does the CoppeRx Card® work?
Answer - Simply present your CoppeRx Card® at one of more than 500 participating pharmacies when you fill your next prescription. Discounts are given at the time of purchase, so there are no receipts to submit or claim forms to fill out.
Question - How much does the plan cost?
Answer - There is no enrollment fee to participate in the Arizona CoppeRx Card® Prescription Discount Program.
Question - Does the CoppeRx Card® offer discounts on diabetic supplies?
Answer - By using the Arizona CoppeRx Card, people with a prescription could receive up to 15% or more off the price of their diabetic supplies. Arizonans using the card can save on items such as syringes, test strips, glucometers and insulin.*
Question - Does the CoppeRx Card® now cover pet medications?
Answer - Yes. The Arizona CoppeRx Card® can also be used for discounts on pet prescriptions such as phenobarbitol and amoxicillin. In order to qualify for the discount, you must have a valid prescription for your pet and the medication must be one that has a human equivalent. Your vet should able to tell you if you can fill your pets prescription at a regular retail pharmacy. Please be aware that if you would like to use this benefit for your pet, you will need to sign your pet up for the CoppeRx Card®. A card with your Pet's name and their ID # will be mailed to your home. If you have any questions about using the CoppeRx Card® for your pet's medications, please call the RxAmerica Customer Service Department.
Question - How soon can I get my discount card?
Once you use your temporary Arizona CoppeRx Card® at a pharmacy, a permanent one will be mailed to you in approximately three to five weeks. You may begin using your temporary card immediately.
Question - What if I don't have my card when I fill a prescription?
Answer - This is very important: you must present your CoppeRx Card® at the time your prescription is filled to receive your discount. Prescriptions purchased without use of the CoppeRx Card® cannot be discounted at a later date. Some pharmacies may store your discount card information in their computer systems, however, it is always best to have your CoppeRx Card® with you when filling a prescription.

Question - If I can't travel to a pharmacy, can I still get the discount?
Answer - Yes. As a special benefit for those who are taking maintenance medications, have difficulty traveling to the drug store, or simply prefer the convenience of home delivery, the program allows you to fill your prescriptions through RxAmerica's state-of-the-art home delivery mail service. Mail service information will be included with your permanent CoppeRx Card®.
