RxAmerica offers a variety of reports to our customers that give a summary of the prescription benefit performance. Our staff of clinical pharmacists are available to explain these reports in detail and show the plan how certain adjustments can be made to improve performance.

Standard Reporting Package & Ad Hoc Reports - RxAmerica believes that our customers’ cost containment success depends on being able to review and understand their pharmacy claims information. RxAmerica excels in helping our clients understand their data by providing information in many different ways other than standard utilization reports.

RxAmerica’s clinical pharmacists work with our customers to develop flexible reporting packages that reflect the needs of their pharmacy management plan. Examples of reports in our standard reporting package include:

  • Top X Drugs
  • Top X Prescribers
  • Therapeutic Class Summary
  • Group Summary Activity Report
  • 12-Month Utilization Summary Comparison
  • Retail Savings Pricing Comparison
  • Members with $XX or More in Claims
  • Members using X or More Controlled Substances
Reports that are selected may be produced on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, depending on our customers’ needs. Reports can be provided on paper, disk, or sent electronically.

A wide selection of reports are included in our standard services at no charge. Additional, customized or ad hoc reports are available at a nominal cost.

Physician and Pharmacy Report Cards - RxAmerica offers Physician Report Cards and Pharmacy Report Cards as part of the utilization reports available to our customers. Our experience has shown the reports can be highly effective in influencing prescribing or dispensing behavior when physicians and pharmacies are alerted to their prescribing and dispensing patterns relative to those of their peers. The RxAmerica Report Cards can provide that information, and have been highly successful in changing prescribing trends for our clients.

For example, the Physician Report Card may be used to compare all physicians in a network, those within a particular medical specialty or all physicians within a given clinic or medical group based upon our customers’ plan design. This effective tool provides easy-to-use information in critical areas such as:

  • Number of prescriptions written in the time frame requested
  • Percentage of prescriptions on the Drug Formulary
  • Percentage of prescriptions dispensed generically
  • Controlled substance prescribing patterns
  • DAW (Dispense as Written) requests by the prescriber
  • Number of prescriptions written per member served
  • Average ingredient cost and amount paid per prescription
The Physician Report Card provides the DEA number of each provider and, if requested by our clients, their name as well. This provides unblinded access to information so that the physician can compare his prescribing patterns relative to those of his/her peers. This has been a highly successful motivator in changing the behavior of physicians in the many networks which we have served.

Both Physician and Pharmacy Report Cards are typically generated on a quarterly or annual basis.

In addition, in the event that it is warranted, our ad hoc reporting service and clinical pharmacy staff provide recommendations for an ongoing customized approach to physician and pharmacy profiling.
