![]() Home > Pharmacy Network ![]() The pharmacy relations department is responsible for the education, training, servicing and problem resolution for all network pharmacies. When a new program is implemented, the pharmacy relations department sends notification to providers that a new program will begin on a specified date. This notification details type of plan, plan design specifications, and the effective date of the program. Additional informational materials are distributed to the network pharmacies when plan designs change or other network changes are made. RxAmerica has contracted with more than 55,000 pharmacies nationwide to provide convenient accessibility for all members. In addition, we offer clients several off-the-shelf networks. Many clients prefer a custom network tailored to their specific needs. Depending upon the management objectives of our customers, RxAmerica can develop a network to meet your exacting needs. In general, the fewer the providers, the more aggressive pricing becomes. RxAmerica’s network types are: Open - This network option provides maximum coverage and accessibility for plan participants. This network consists of most major chains and independent pharmacies. Preferred - This network option provides a more restricted network within a geographic area, with independent pharmacies providing additional provider sites. This option provides good accessibility, plan control, and lower pricing for plan sponsors. Exclusive - This option provides access to specific pharmacies within a geographic area. The custom network option can provide the highest degree of plan control and lowest pricing. All networks include independent pharmacies. RxAmerica tries to work with the Plan’s members to include their pharmacies of choice. Once a client has determined whether they prefer an open network (for better accessibility), or a Preferred or Exclusive network (for cost savings), RxAmerica can build a customized network to ensure adequate coverage for all members. |
